We enjoyed our time on the Miami Mermaid. This was our first experience staying onboard it gave us a feeling what a live aboard would be like. You provided us with so much valuable information, this will help us make decisions on how to move forward on our trawler buying progress.
Some of our favorite parts of your class where your in-depth knowledge of the trawler buying market, important things to look for in a survey, what is a dealbreaker and not a dealbreaker. We also appreciated the different models that will work best for us.
Paula especially enjoyed learning from “Captain know it all “ the (chart plotter) even though she struggled at times to figure out where the boat was this part was definitely not her strength. But you taught her well now she knows how to get wherever she wants to navigate to. Paula is now the Master navigator.
My favorite location was No Name Harbour in Key Biscayne, the water was gorgeous and the Cuban restaurant was just perfect.
Last of all we appreciate your accommodating all the delicious meals you made for us. You spoiled us having a coffee already when we got up to start a wonderful day. Your salads were to die for. We can’t even begin to imagine taking the big step forward buying our trawler without taking your trawler training course. It was worth every penny of it.

Thank you for the entertaining and educational charter, you are a hoot.
We learned so much from our three days a onboard to Miami Mermaid and we are now confident we can handle trawlering ourselves.
We had a blast watching Super Bowl Onboard it was just an incredible experience.
The food and training, the company were all first class. We enjoyed the ride. We are now on our way to spend a week in Key West this was quite a trip.

Fantastic! That’s how we feel and the confidence level we have now after your Trawler’s course. These four days were jam-packed with knowledge provided by a well seasoned and experienced Captain. The food was great and so was the hospitality. Captain Bob made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
He is a jokester, a storyteller and a prankster, however he only used those tricks to help us learn. His teaching and most of his stories help drive the things home that he was trying to teach us. We are so thankful we took this course with Captain Bob. We feel prepared and excited to take the next step.

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and common sense insights. We came into trawler school with limited knowledge and graduated with major knowledge of what we are looking for in a trawler. Your meals were excellent!! (Even though Bill doesn’t like fish.) He actually ate it and agreed that he liked it! The scenery was beautiful, the anchorages were amazing.
Docking practice was challenging at Marina Stadium with the wind. (No sorry.). The sailboat will probably never forget us. 10,000 BC was amazing. Thank you for the hazardous boat training (or how to avoid idiots!) 2020 went out with an extra night of anchorage on New Year’s Eve. Thank you so much again.

Hey Captain Bob,
Thank you for a fun experience! We were unsure of the coastal cruising rules, laws and restrictions. We didn’t know where to get started. Thanks for encouraging us to figure things out ourselves. We feel like we can read the charts and chart plotter and cruise almost anywhere.
Beautiful scenery and perfect weather, we had a lovely cruise on the “Miami Mermaid”. Your itinerary gave us awesome views, a wonderful experience.
As we approach retirement, you gave us so much to think about. Thank you.

Thank you Captain Bob for a great experience, all the training & information. I personally did not know what to expect or if I would even like it (wife) You helped me to understand the ins/outs of trawler living & gave us a lot to think over & discuss.
GREAT experience!! Loved the stories. As a salesperson, I will steal some of your lines. We are a part of the COVID clan. We waited 18 months from the time we originally booked, till we could come aboard. It was worth the wait.

We have had a far more memorable adventure/experience than we could have ever hoped for. Loved the inspirational trawler stories.
But OMG…talk about baptism by water, winds and the dark. Our bay crossing was an experience like nothing else. In your company, at NO time did we feel unsafe or in trouble. The spray in our face, momentarily blinding us was invigorating. But it was our relief to finally enter the bay for anchoring. We are excited about our future possibilities all because of our interactions with Captain Bob – a kind, rough and tumble yet gentle man of the world. This will stay with us forever. Bon voyage all, including Wilma.
