We had a wonderful time on our 3 day 4 night charter al- inclusive Trawler school. We signed up to learn about trawlers, how to handle them, docking, buying the right the right trawler, and living on one for a few days. Your school has met all our expectations.

It was nice to have the free time exploring and adventuring the places we went to it was just like a vacation. Kudos on the Captain’s teaching skills, keep it simple! All your meals were healthy, delicious and well proportioned. We also learned so much on finding trawlers and dealing with private or with brokerage’s the whole package. All this along with your entertainment made this the perfect trip.

We had a great trawler school learning vacation with you. I feel a lot more confident docking and maneuvering a trawler. We’ve had a 36’ Grand Bank trunk single engine for over 3 years. I now plan on docking our trawler 90% of the time.

Even my husband who is a seasoned sailor/power boater learned many new ideas regarding boat maintenance. Miami’s anchorages were very new to us and you have so many urban Anchorage’s to choose from. They are breathtaking.

Thank you for accommodating my numerous food requirements restrictions. But you met the challenge and provided us with delicious food.

We are so glad we attended trawler school even though we own a trawler there is always room for experience and improvement.

You sure put on good classes! It was just perfect we learned a lot and had many laughs. We met all our expectations attending Trawler school. We are so glad we’re the first couple to pass your course and graduated out of 435 other couples. Ha Ha only kidding, we are now Trawler Scholars. Yahoo!!

We were the youngest couple onboard (40 & 43) we still don’t know who Dom DeLouise Is?…? But we learned so very much! We had many adventures and thank you for letting us bring our fishing rods and blow up paddle board. We sure had fun on our off time. Relaxed, well fed, informed, confident handling your trawler on our own…

Yeah, we survived Captain Bob’s Trawler school!

Thanks for the grand adventure. You made us comfortable as beginners, from learning how to anchor and navigating down the Intracoastal Waterway, to all those beautiful anchorages. We quickly learnt reading charts, and were introduced to Captain Know-it-all (a chart plotter). We were navigating on our own in no time. Great classes and good humor turns out to be a good combination for the Captain’s teaching methods.

Thank you for all your 5 Star meals – best Grouper ever. Strong coffee and yummy yogurts. Really good salads, all and all very,very well thought out healthy meals.

Captain Bob,

Learned a lot! Very helpful as we are planing to get a trawler soon as we retire.

I’m not a mechanic, but Captain Bob’s engine class was very easy to understand and is included in his classes. I paid $900.00 for an engine class for 3 days, it was just too much information, but the Captain just shows you the 3 basic principles on how your Diesel engines work: air, aater & fuel, nice and simple.

Darlene’s seamstress skills came into play fixing the isinglass zipper on the fly bridge, the Captain was very pleased.

We saw dolphins & manatees and the million dollar Miami skyline where we anchored for one of the nights. Went to 5 or 6 beautiful anchorages and navigated the intracoastal waterway and Biscayne Bay. What an exciting adventure, like I mentioned we learned a LOT.

We came to Trawler school to learn about trawlers and looking for clarity on how to move forward on our future trawler plans. Well, we received all the training we came for. The hands on training and the wisdom of Captain Bob provided us with a plan as we are getting closer to retirement.

Thanks for your hospitality, the extra early coffee, great food. Funny fish jokes and woman overboard drill— we saved Wilma!

Jim and I had a great time learning about trawlers. Captain Bob’s trawler school covers everything from cruising to navigating, engine class, maintenance, electrical, chart plotter (or Captain Know-It-All, as he calls it). Our biggest class was on finding the right trawler, contracts, surveyors so on and so forth. Worth every penny going to your trawler school.

Capt. Bob is very entertaining and quite the host! We felt right at home onboard the Miami Mermaid. No question, his cooking was the best and very, very healthy.

So glad we got to evaluate the trawler we were looking at with you and your keen knowledge— it will take us a long way.

Please look us up in Texas if you’re ever down our way!

Thank you Captain Bob for the most excellent cruising adventure, we came aboard as rookies and left as Trawler Scholars! Yahoo! We are your 412th graduates. We are well schooled and much less intimidated about trawlers. You made classes simple and easy. Your wonderful meals and hospitality was just what we weary land lubbers needed.
